Latest Progress:
Engagement with businesses across the Old Town continues, with a mix of one-to-one meetings, business visits, inviting survey responses and group discussions.
Recent progress has also included a visitor attraction round table, alongside meetings and discussions with retail, hospitality, licensed trade and public sectors. We have also been carrying out targeted meetings with businesses in the Canongate, George IV Bridge, Victoria Street, High Street and Lawnmarket.
Over the next few weeks, we will follow up with businesses we have not yet heard from.
We are also looking to host two dedicated discussion sessions, one for retailers and one for the licensed trade.
This is to explore the priorities affecting these sectors in more detail. Look out for dates and further information in the next bulletin.
What's Next:During September/October we will continue to:· Meet with businesses across the proposed BID area· Gather feedback through the survey and one-to-one discussions· Review the feedback received to identify the priorities that matter most to businesses· Begin preparing the draft Business Plan and supporting BID Proposal documents
